About My Clients
Do you appear to "have it all together" but feel unsatisfied with your life? Are you operating on autopilot, and feel stuck in your job or relationship? Have you been thinking about switching careers or going back to school, but your fears and worries are getting in the way? Are you going through a change in your life, such as becoming a parent for the first time, and having difficulty adjusting? Whether you’re in the midst of a life change or contemplating a transition, I can help.
My Background and Approach
I work with high-functioning adults struggling with stress, anxiety and navigating life transitions. Many of the clients that I work with identify as adult children of immigrant parents or BIPOC individuals. Together, we'll help you find clarity, build confidence, reduce stress, improve your mood, and overcome your fears. I utilize an integrative approach in therapy which means I may provide education about how stress and anxiety impacts the body and mind, teach you breathing exercises or grounding techniques, help you unpack buried emotions or delve into your family background. I am committed to practicing cultural humility, and will validate and affirm your cultural experiences. As a holistic psychotherapist, I take into account your psychological well-being, physical health, lifestyle, social support and spiritual beliefs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist of color, I am passionate about de-stigmatizing mental health in communities of color, normalizing mental health issues, providing education, and supporting you in healing intergenerational trauma. I value providing quality mental health care with cultural humility. I strive to continually educate myself about different cultures, challenge my own beliefs and examine my privileges to better understand and support you. I stand with and affirm the experiences of those from historically marginalized communities, including women, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, immigrants, neurodivergent individuals, and people with disabilities.
