My Background and Approach
I have certifications in Anxiety, Trauma, EMDR and DBT. An interesting fact about my career is that Dr. Francine Shapiro, the developer of EMDR, was my level 2 trainer in 1999. My client-centered focus blends your unique strengths with these evidence-based treatments. In our work together you will learn effective ways to change your unwanted thoughts, negative emotions and self-defeating behaviors. You can move forward from chaos feeling emotionally regulated, calmer and confident in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My favorite quote: "The meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away."-Pablo Picasso My gift is my passion for providing the tools that motivated people need to create meaningful life changes. I have provided therapy to clients with Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, relationship conflicts, parenting/co-parenting stress and professional burnout. I'm truly inspired by watching people find their strengths and use them. I also volunteer regularly, helping provide meals to people with food insecurities and providing psychological relief to disaster survivors after 9/11 and Hurricane Ian. I've been active with social justice involving women's issues, human trafficking and the rights of trauma survivors. I believe that everyone has strengths, purpose and is worthy of love.
