About My Clients
I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults with a variety of presenting problems. I often utilize an experiential approach that often incorporates my training as a Recreational therapist because sometimes traditional talk therapy isn’t enough.
My Background and Approach
I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Utah in parks, recreation, and tourism with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation. From there, I began working as a recreational therapist in an inpatient hospital setting. Within this job role, I was able to gain experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with varying diagnoses. I developed a passion for helping those struggling with their mental health and decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in social work with a focus area in mental health. I view my own ongoing journey for personal growth as a key element of my professional development. I am constantly seeking to improve my understanding of human behavior and development. My clinical specialties include experiential modalities, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, son, and husband. I also enjoy getting out in nature as well as binging true crime podcasts.
