About My Clients
Having a hard time trusting yourself or feeling confident? It can be extremely difficult in a world full of opinions and pressures of your family, friends, society, and don’t forget social media. The people I work with are usually looking for freedom from the opinions and judgments of others. This is not a selfish endeavor as many may think; it is the path to self-love and inner peace.
My Background and Approach
My Background I began my career in crisis intervention working in the emergency room at the age of 19. My passion for the connection between physical health and mental health began to grow. I obtained my Master's degree in community counseling in 2015 then started working as a psychotherapist with children and families. In 2020, the pandemic pushed me to finally realize a long-time goal of mine, to open a solo private practice. I'm currently the owner of Twelfth House Wellness in Oklahoma City. My Approach There seems to be an art to being alive aka being human; a balancing act to maintain your mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. The truth is that many of us know this is important but put it on the back burner. I want to help you explore your own beliefs and values, specifically learning to accept all parts of yourself, the good, the bad, and the ugly. My primary approach is Acceptance & Commitment Therapy integrated with psychospiritual techniques and metaphysical tools.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My philosophy on life is existential at its core, “existence precedes essence”. Our actions give life meaning and value. I am deeply connected to humanity, animals, and nature. I am a dog foster mom, I love to hike and swim, and I enjoy learning about astrology/universe. In life, we can learn a lot from each other and our personal experiences, if we choose to. I believe labels are useful but not when they are weaponized by society. But I also believe we are much more than the "I am" statements we associate with our identity. I believe life is a process and the destination is death, the question is what are you going to do that’s worthwhile before you arrive? My beliefs are motivated by much more than I could write on this page. And my hope for humanity is that we see all of our situations as opportunities, no matter how devasting. We always have a choice about how we react and respond to life. That is the beauty of being human.
