About My Clients
Many of my clients come to therapy because they are ready to change old patterns, but are not always sure how to begin. They may be navigating anxiety, life transitions, career questions, or the stress that comes from trying to keep everything together for too long. My work is a good fit for people who want engaged support, but also want to understand themselves more deeply. I help clients think about their thinking, clarify what matters to them, and build a life that feels more aligned.
My Background and Approach
My background includes more than 15 years as a therapist, along with experience in higher education, career coaching, and health technology. I bring a practical, collaborative approach to therapy that is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based CBT, and real-life behavior change. I help clients understand what is happening internally, build tools that fit their actual life, and make changes that are connected to their values. My style is direct, compassionate, and active, with room for humor when it helps.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A little about me: I am a lifelong learner and am often drawn toward new opportunities that challenge me. Outside of work, I love fitness, meditation, holistic health, good food, and spending time outside. Like many people in the Pacific Northwest, I am often hiking, kayaking, or finding some other reason to be in nature. I am also a parent, a partner to someone I have been with for my entire adult life, and a dog mom. The values that guide my personal and professional life include compassion, courage, connection, peace, adventure, and laughter. I care deeply about social justice and strive to create a therapy space that is affirming, inclusive, and respectful of each person’s lived experience. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and believe therapy should be a place where people can show up as their full selves.
