My Background and Approach
Over the past 17 years, I have provided emotional health support for people. I am a psychotherapist with a LCSW license in the state of NJ. My private practice was founded in 2016, and prior to that I worked in community mental health. In my practice, I treat anxiety, depression, grief, life stressors, PTSD, trauma, stress, chronic pain/illness coping. My approach varies depending on the client's needs and generally includes CBT, ACT, Trauma informed CBT, EMDR, and psychoanalytic components while including integrative approaches such as Mindfulness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I started my studies many years ago to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I knew I wanted to open my own private practice to become a psychotherapist. I still remember the first few weeks of classes, the professors teaching how Social Work core values are rooted in service, social justice, dignity/worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. I remember thinking how I chose the perfect profession, because the field of Social Work aligns with my personal values. Even today, I strive towards those values professionally and personally.
