In therapy, I am aware that childhood and the relationship one has with caregivers shape our personalities and relationships as adults. We all have attachment styles. Some may have healthy attachments. However, one may develop insecure, avoidant, or anxious attachment styles due to childhood distress and sometimes unmet needs. Yet they are not fixed and can be improved through insight, awareness, healthy communication, and safety and security.

Stress is something everyone experiences. I've never met a person who hasn't experienced stress. How we manage stress and cope with our emotions related to stress varies. Many individuals do not recognize that "stress" represents two types. Distress and eustress, the latter being positive and motivating. Through an insight-oriented approach to therapy, I will assist you in learning why you have distress, learn how to manage distress, and help make future stressors become eustress.

I view families similarly to how I view homes. Some are beautiful on the exterior, and one would assume has no interior issues. Others are clearly in need of repair based on the exterior. Yet, I remind myself that the exterior isn't everything. Once you enter the home, structural challenges and mysteries may be behind closed doors. As a therapist, I help you open the doors by reevaluating the shortfalls, building support and a study framework, and upgrading what works.

Through integrative mental health, I assess clients' mental health needs while considering how multiple aspects of their life correlate with their mental health. I evaluate her client’s strengths and areas needing improvement, to develop a unique plan. Treatment may explore the mind-body connection, sleep health, diet and nutrition, supplements, etc. My approach has been developed through training and scholarly research.

I offer clients an insight-oriented approach to therapy in that my role is to help them develop awareness and understanding of the issues they present with and make informed choices toward lasting change. I believe that clients are not just symptoms or diagnoses, and through therapy explore their history, personality, and identity development to expand my understanding of their issues and needs.

Since beginning my work as a therapist, I have worked with families. In addition to my graduate training, I have specialized training in Structural Family Therapy. I believe that family patterns are cross-generational. While issues may be unhealthy, they often serve a role in the family. Through counseling, I work with families to identify unhealthy patterns and behaviors, while developing healthy ways to address and manage issues.
