About My Clients

My ideal clients are couples/individuals who are open to engaging in an interactive & dynamic therapeutic relationship. I have over a decade of experience working with older adults, individuals living with disabilities/chronic illnesses, and the LGBTQ+ community. My therapeutic practice is grounded in compassion and empathy while working with clients to cultivate sustainable life changes. I enjoy providing home visits as part of comprehensive therapeutic care.

My Background and Approach

I am a pragmatic therapist who meets individuals and couples where they are and assists them in creating a quality of life that is authentic to them. I have experience treating clients with caregiver stress, relationship challenges, grief and loss issues, trauma, & anxiety. I assist clients in identifying symptoms that are negatively impacting their daily lives and possible root causes. I take a strength based perspective with an emphasis on evidence based practices. My job is not to tell clients how to live their lives, but to provide a safe space to explore their desires and teach them tools to reach their therapeutic goals. I value our time together & encourage feedback from clients to fine tune our work together. I am currently engaging in continuing education regarding human sexuality to further my knowledge of sexuality as an integral part of clients’ lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a passion for empowering older adults that has been cultivated by the wonderful elders who shaped me into the person I am today. I have a strong commitment to working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, of which I am a proud member, throughout all the stages of adulthood. I greatly enjoy combining my love of research/data with my therapeutic work to incorporate empirical findings as context for why our brains work the way they do and why different therapeutic approaches may be effective. In my off time I can often be found creating interactive art, playing board games with people I love, or going hiking with my daughter and my puppy partner in crime Tibo.
