About My Clients
Many of my clients come in describing anxiety, chronic self-doubt, or a vague sense that something is off — and haven't yet connected those patterns to a relationship that taught them their needs were wrong. I work with women (and sometimes men) navigating the psychological impact of narcissistic or emotionally immature relationships, complex and developmental trauma, religious and spiritual injury, and the kind of overfunctioning and self-criticism that can quietly run someone's life for years
My Background and Approach
I integrate Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Brainspotting, and Drama Therapy alongside relational and attachment-based approaches. I work at the level of the nervous system and the body, not just insight and narrative — because understanding your patterns and feeling more freedom within them are two different things. I'm an LMFT, Registered Drama Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and AAMFT Approved Supervisor with 15+ years of experience. Before private practice I was an actor and theater educator — which still shapes how I work. I believe healing is important work that doesn't have to be solemn or precious to be effective
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Working in Tennessee (and virtually in Ohio), I am often sought out by liberal, queer, or other folks who are looking for a more progressive therapist and a space where they can feel safe to express their true opinions and get support for current challenges. I recognize that the current political and cultural environment is threatening to those of many non-dominant culture identities and that adds a layer of real threat to daily life.
