About My Clients
When people first see me they are full of stress, anxiety, and fear. They make decisions to please or manage others to avoid tension. They can't seem to find order in the chaos of their lives. Their fear of what others think and lack of confidence keep them feeling stuck under a crushing weight of expectation from others and themselves. Like my clients, you deserve to understand your brain so that you can be in the driver's seat of your life.
My Background and Approach
I take an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and goals of my clients. By drawing from a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and more, I ensure that we use the most effective methods to foster growth, healing, and long-lasting change. My focus is always on creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and empowered to work through challenges at your own pace. I went to The Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and my master's degree is from Ashland University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our struggles often make sense in the context of unjust systems - not because something is inherently “wrong” with us. My work centers systemic understanding over pathologizing, and I’m especially passionate about supporting people recovering from high-control religious environments, cults, and authoritarian family systems. I know how disorienting it can be to untangle your identity, faith, and voice after being shaped by coercive dynamics. In therapy, I offer warmth, curiosity, and a collaborative space where we can explore your story without shame. I hold deep values around freedom, compassion, justice, and authenticity. Healing isn't about becoming someone new - it’s about reclaiming who you’ve always been.
