About My Clients
My typical client is age 18+, seeking therapy for presenting problems related to anxiety, depression, substance / alcohol misuse or dual diagnosis, grief + loss, personality disorders, and trauma-related disorders. My clients are their own expert so we work together to establish goals and I follow their lead in determining what their baseline looks like. I take a person-centered approach that affirms each client’s gender, racial, and sexual identity.
My Background and Approach
As a second career clinician, I believe in a practice where I continually grow and learn. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) how your thoughts emotions and behaviors are all connected as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) building the foundational blocks including value identification and mindfulness practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Lifelong learning is one of my core values, which is why I intentionally volunteer and engage in spaces that reflect identities different from my own. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally, and as a white therapist, I’m committed to continually strengthening my cultural competency and practicing an anti-racist approach.
