About My Clients

I often share with my clients that if they are struggling with the current state of our world, they are not alone. I primarily work with individuals who are navigating anxiety and life changes, folks who have been affected by interpersonal violence, addiction, or other traumas. I honor all of the pieces of my clients' unique identities (race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and more).

My Background and Approach

My journey to becoming a therapist began in immigration legal advocacy, where I worked in immigrant and refugee rights agencies in the U.S. and Latin America. I saw the intersections between trauma, oppression, sexual violence, and addiction as well as the systemic barriers that womxn and LGBTQ+ folks faced when seeking support. This led me to pursue clinical work and provide trauma informed counseling in non-profit spaces, sexual and domestic violence prevention programs, and long-term mental health & substance abuse treatment. Humor, mindfulness, creativity, person-centered and somatic approaches are all essential to my therapeutic practice. I am also a certified Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher and Reiki practitioner, and bring movement based and energetic practices to my work whenever possible.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

You are the expert of your own life, and my intention is that all the work we do together reflects that. As a queer womxn and someone who experienced trauma, my intention is to create a space that feels secure for folks to heal and develop tools that take into account their unique identities and experiences. I am committed to social justice work, and the fight against systemic oppression and inequity. I am actively doing my own work to address my white privilege and decolonize my therapy practice. I am passionate about immigrant and refugee rights advocacy, and sexual violence prevention. I also am a co-founder of Sisterwork, which is a womxn-led family mentorship organization that seeks to close the gaps faced by the Latinx community in Central New Jersey through community building, youth leadership and sexual violence prevention.
