About My Clients
Counseling individuals, couples and moresomes related to consensual non-monogamy, sex therapy, sexual orientation, gender identity, intimacy and communication with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also specialize in mood related challenges, including anxiety, phobias, BDD, OCD and depression, as well as career transitions. As a member of the polyamorous, LGBTQ+, kink and burner communities, I share my extensive personal and professional experience with clients.
My Background and Approach
I am a relationship enthusiast with 20 years of counseling experience. As a therapist, I have focused on creative relationship structures, consensual non-monogamy, sex therapy, gender identity, communication and intimacy for individuals, couples and moresomes. I created the NYC Polyamorous Women’s Discussion Group, a focal point for thought leaders in CNM. My modality of focus is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a third generation Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have trained extensively at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in the Sex Therapy Program and the Psychotherapy Center for Gender and Sexuality. I regularly conduct workshops and other trainings on CNM and sex therapy topics.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My experiences in the CNM and LGBTQ+ communities have directly informed my choice of specialization. As I steeped myself in these communities from a personal perspective, I was asked to use my counseling skills and experience as a lawyer and law firm partner hiring expert, to advise those in the CNM and kink communities. Over the past number of years, I have worked regularly in my therapy practice with those in the CNM and LGBTQ+ communities. My general training includes ICP coursework in sexuality, Human Awareness Institute workshops, Gottman Couples Work, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, and extensive ACT trainings.
