About My Clients
Do you feel hopeless and discouraged when you think of making changes? Perhaps you just feel stuck and unsure of how to move forward. Life can be overwhelming, especially when experiencing anxiety, grief, uncertainty, or relational conflict. This is where I can help. I have experience working with children and adults from diverse backgrounds who are navigating issues such as trauma and abuse, life transitions, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship issues, and low self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
I received my BA from Loyola University Chicago and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. My counseling experience includes individual and group therapy, including play therapy with children. From a trauma-informed approach, I have helped clients achieve safety and stabilization, increase emotional regulation skills, and improve relational attachments among other goals. My therapeutic style is empathic, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which greatly informs my practice, though I also incorporate other evidence-based modalities. In therapy, we will explore your emotional experiences and significant relationships and how those shape the way you think and act.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It can be overwhelming to find a therapist and to involve someone else in your journey. I believe that you are the expert on your story and that the therapeutic relationship is of the utmost importance. Thus, my desire is to come alongside you and support you as you take courageous steps toward change. As your therapist, you will experience unconditional acceptance, authentic connection, and empathic listening, mixed with a little bit of humor. No matter your life circumstances, there is hope.
