About My Clients
As a queer/ace Chinese transracial adoptee, I absolutely love working with fellow adoptees, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ identifying individuals. Additionally, I typically work with individuals with relationship challenges, wanting to strengthen or build parts of their identities, and experiencing general life stressors or transitions.
My Background and Approach
I believe my role as a therapist is to create a space where we can work collaboratively to reach your care goals. I believe mental health, similar to physical health is not a checklist to be completed or finished. Rather, it is an ongoing exploration and relationship to strengthen and better understand. My approach to therapy is anti-oppressive and non-judgmental, and I focus on building rapport and trust through transparency and self-disclosure. I use a variety of psychological theories to help us understand you, because I don't think any one single theory is applicable to everyone. Simply, I value people's humanity, and I strive to find connection with clients through that approach as well. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my free time, I have a passion for learning languages (Tagalog, Thai, and Indonesian currently) and meeting people from around the world. I am an active member in both the queer and Asian communities. I sincerely enjoy making connections with others whether that be through food, language, or art.
