I primarily work with teens through middle-aged adults. I particularly enjoy working with “emerging adulthood” individuals (18-25) as they take on the many life transitions that frequently occur during that time. My Background and Approach
I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill and am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) in North Carolina. My therapeutic approach draws from numerous modalities, with direct and frequent collaboration with my clients. This includes elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Somatic Therapies. I also have experience in sex therapy and enjoy working with clients who are struggling with specific sexual challenges or are just looking for a provider who can integrate that element into overall treatment. Above all, I see our relationship as the most important factor of therapeutic success. I strive to connect with my clients on an authentic and human level as we collaborate on the best ways to move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am loudly sex-positive, LGBTQ+ affirming, kink-friendly, and poly-friendly. I acknowledge my inherent privilege as a white cisgender woman. While I may not be able to fully understand your struggle from a lived experience perspective, I am deeply committed to maintaining cultural humility and increasing my own competence in order to best serve my clients. Regardless of identity, I am honored to walk alongside you in your journey.
