About My Clients
Do you worry you’re a disappointment to those you love? Do you feel constantly burdened by other’s expectations, or even your own? Do you feel like no matter how hard you try, you can't live up to the plans you had imagined for your life? The anxiety and pressure of keeping up with your goals feels exhausting, but letting go of the image in your head is terrifying too. I’m here to help you realign your goals and relationships, while helping you come to terms with who you really want to be.
My Background and Approach
Maybe you’re an oldest daughter, a child of immigrants or a third culture kid. You might be a high achiever; perfectionism and the drive to succeed are handed down the family lineage. Or, you might have been an excellent student, but carried the immense pressure of trying to perform to neurotypical standards with an ADHD or Autism diagnosis. When you grow up with rigid definitions of success, it can be hard to even recognize the constant stress and pressure you’re under… until you crack. In therapy, my goal is to connect deeply and meaningfully, but also to allow you to feel comfortable and share openly about any aspect of your life. In my 8 years of experience in mental health, I have found that by accepting yourself as you are *and* recognizing your potential to grow, we are able to achieve real change together. Sometimes, that looks like a deep dive into your values and upbringing. Other sessions, we might just talk about a crappy date you went on. All subjects are on the table.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from a neurodivergent, immigrant family, so I particularly enjoy working with people who experience the heavy pressure of familial expectations, and might struggle with social fluidity and comfort. As a helping professional and oldest daughter, I also really enjoy working with people who identify as a "helper," maybe you even have friends or family who jokingly call you their therapist :) I love offering space to people who are always holding space for others and are getting tired of holding it all together-whether that's in your job or just your social life. I have significant clinical experience working with a range of clients from different backgrounds; diverse ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, immigration statuses, and sexual orientation & gender identities are welcome in my practice.
