About My Clients

If your feeling sad, unmotivated or struggle with negative thoughts...or if your feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed. Together we can work to understand these struggles and build a better quality of life. Do you need help navigating an unsatisfactory relationship with a family member, friend, partner(s) or co-worker. Relationships are central to our growth and together we can identify and create healthy relationships.

My Background and Approach

Hello there, I am a native Texan who grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. I graduated in 2006 from Texas State University with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. I moved to Austin, Texas shortly thereafter. I spent the next 15 years working for a non-profit organization that specialized in serving the LGBTQIA+ community, people living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones; and people experiencing trauma, depression or anxiety. I genuinely love what I do. I care about the people I work with and strive to provide quality care. I enjoy building a relationship with clients that allows them to talk as if they are talking to a best friend or confidant. Tell me the good, the bad, the ugly and you will get kind, companionate, non-judging care and support. Warmly, Sarah Gonzales, NCC, LPC

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am on the board of the Women Rising Project (WRP), a program for women living with HIV and AIDS in Central Texas. Through our programs and activities, the Project addresses the unique health education and support needs of women in our community. The Project is dedicated to strengthening women through programs and activities that provide education, connection/support and advocacy and leadership opportunities. I donate regularly to the Austin Humane Society and recently donated to A GoFundMe to help a friend get her dog the care he needed. I have lived experience with depression and anxiety that I work to manage without medication. I identify as pan sexual but am in a heteronormative presenting couple. I am currently learning how to value my neurospicy ways and since leaving my job of 15 years, take my power back and create a practice that suits my needs as well as my clients.
