About My Clients
I work with adults navigating gender exploration, identity development, and major life transitions. The people I get to work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated for change, yet find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward in a way that feels authentic, grounded, and sustainable.
My Background and Approach
My practice is rooted in a mission to help people to uncover and author their identities in an inviting, affirming, and deeply human environment. My approach lands somewhere between Ted Lasso and Stevie from Schitt’s Creek; warm, encouraging, and deeply human, with a dry, irreverent edge that keeps things honest. I’ll cheer you on, but I’ll also give you the straight truth when you’re dodging your own growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that when people are able to live in their true identities, they come alive; and that kind of aliveness tends to shake things up in the best way. I also know that authentic self-expression feels daunting if not impossible while also navigating the collective trauma and chaos of this present moment. My approach to therapy is deeply relational; grounded in respect for people’s humanity, and honest about the context that we’re all swimming in. I don’t believe therapy happens in a vacuum, and I don’t pretend the work we do is neutral. If you want a blank slate therapist, I'm not your person. I approach therapy from an awareness that the work we do in the room is undoubtedly shaped by the external systems, structures, and stressors people face. Trans rights are human rights. Bodily autonomy is non-negotiable. And while I take this work seriously, I believe strongly that healing doesn't have to happen without humor and a bit of irreverence from time to time.
