About My Clients
I primarily serve LGBTQIA and neurodivergent people in addition to those with BPD. You may be struggling with regulating emotions, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, substance use concerns, anxiety, or generally managing distress. I love to work with explorative, creative, and expressive folx who don't mind a bit of homework! Additionally, I enjoy working with people to feel more confident in self-advocacy.
My Background and Approach
I am a Social Worker who brings a background in social justice which is central to my approach. The principles of DBT guide my practice which is grounded in critical, systems, queer theory, anti-oppression, and intersectional-feminist theories. We will look at multilevel influences on your experiences, your range of control, and tools to help navigate life. I highlight your strengths and encourage baby steps toward growth. I additionally use Exposure and Response Prevention, mindfulness training, somatic therapy, cognitive reframing, supportive reflection, relational techniques, harm-reduction, and motivational interviewing. I offer a DBT skills group for clients and clinicians!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, genderfluid, queer femme who is passionate about advocating for and serving people living in the margins. I strive to fill gaps left in mental health care by systemic oppression. I am a sex-worker advocate, participant in the BLM movements, and lead LGBTQIA+ peer support/advocacy/education efforts. I am anti-AI, anti-genocide, and anti-racist. I am educated in experiences of disabilities, though I do not have lived experience in this area. I respect all faiths while also working with those who have historical and current relationship trauma. I primarily identify as spiritual and lean toward Buddhist and pagan practices myself. Tarot is welcome!
