About My Clients
Chronic worry, doubt, and intrusive thoughts that interfere with daily life are the most common concerns my clients have. Symptoms of anxiety can be overwhelming, damaging emotional and physical wellbeing and interfering with relationships, self-esteem, and ability to focus. Overthinking, self-doubt and frequent worry can be distracting and make it harder to enjoy daily life. I take a collaborative, goal-oriented approach where clients can make meaningful changes and return to valued living.
My Background and Approach
It has been reported that it takes several years on average for individuals with OCD to get effective care. As a therapist, I hope to bridge the gap in treatment for those seeking help for OCD and related concerns. I studied Psychology and Spanish as an undergraduate, then earned master degrees in Bicultural and Bilingual Studies and in Community Counseling. In my practice, I use client-centered, mindfulness based cognitive approaches, and exposure and response prevention for the treatment of anxiety, OCD and Body-Dysmorphic Disorder. I also have training in executive function needs for adults, and have a special interest in working with athletes.
