About My Clients

Are you struggling with immense guilt and shame associated with a problematic behavior? Are you afraid to admit that you will have a problem? What might people think? How will this impact my career, my reputation, my legacy? Are tired of maintaining a facade? Is the pain becoming unbearable? This once my experience and with an appropriate use of self I model the importance of facing our pain to experience genuine happiness and meaningful relationships.

My Background and Approach

I embrace a psychologically flexible, holistic approach that is tailored to the needs of each client . I believe that establishing a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation of the healing process. I focus on process vs. content and discourage establishing time frames for healing. I view pain as an inevitable part of the human existence and our ability embrace and tolerate pain reduces symptoms or problematic behaviors and allows us to experience genuine happiness. Utilizing a multi-modality approach that consists of a combination of evidence- based therapeutic practices and practical skill building, I provide my clients with the tools to heal in accordance with their desired goals and objectives. I believe in removing barriers to accessing care and embrace organic opportunities healing to occur. I want my clients to feel like working with me is an experience providing them with a new perpective that will is advantageous to them in all aspects of their life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I veiw therapy as the best investment one can make in ourselves or our loved ones. An investment that everyone should consider. I have found my own therapy to provide me with the ability to embrace my emotions with curiosity versus despair. I am also able to recognize that feelings are often not indicative of the reality of a situation and by allowing for this process, I am able to create some distance from my emotional experience and make decisions based on "what is most important right now?". I help my clients identify and understand their emotions and help them learn how to self-assess their level of distress to determine how to cope in any given moment. I promote teachable moments and believe in the importance of therapeutic imaginal and in-vivo exposure to allow for opportunity to practice identifying thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and practicing skills in safe controlled setting.
