About My Clients
Perhaps you feel like your life is coming undone. You or your spouse has received a life-changing diagnosis. You’re struggling to have a baby you so desperately want. You’re grappling with menopause, and neither you nor your partner seems to recognize you anymore. Medical and physical challenges impact more than the body – touching our emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. I would be honored to help you navigate this season of your life.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is collaborative, direct, relationship-focused, and tailored to you and your unique situation. I use a combination of talk therapy, experiential, and somatic mindfulness techniques to deepen self-awareness and help you practice new skills in session. We will work together to help you recognize and understand your emotional responses, identify patterns that keep you stuck, and find ways to interrupt them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are wonderful, weird, and dynamic, and that we were meant to exist in relationships with others. I believe we are capable of changing and reinventing ourselves many times over in life. I believe everyone deserves to be loved and accepted for who they are, and that, in relationships, actions speak louder than words. Based on my own lived experiences, I believe mental health support should be integrated into treatment for medical issues and that helping caregivers matters just as much as helping the person carrying a diagnosis.
