My Background and Approach
I am a clinical interventionist specializing in children and youth development. I am certified as a social worker in child-trauma work and have been working with youth in school settings, after-school programs, and group homes, and private practice for the past 9 years. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness strategies, social-emotional learning, and art and movement therapy in my sessions. Additionally, I'm fluent in Farsi and have experience working with children from immigrant and refugee backgrounds. Child-centered and child-focused work that focuses on holistic care and mental and spiritual well-being is my professional passion and I endeavor to extend this care to all the children and families I work with.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I blend spirituality, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness into my daily living. I love nature and find it to be a healing agent. I'm an adventurer at heart and find so much joy in high-adrenaline activities including hiking and rock climbing!
