I have specialized training in working with complex PTSD in many forms. I have been treating trauma for nearly a decade. I have worked with survivors of war/combat, sexual assault, childhood trauma, systemic and societal trauma based on gender identity, race, religious belief, as well as survivors of Hurricane Katrina and several other natural disasters. I have treated complex trauma that has compounded from childhood resulting in addiction and personality issues as well.

I have treated anxiety in various different forms throughout my practice. Employing an individualized approach, focused on finding the common thought and actions that impact our anxieties and how they begin to distort and take shape as insurmountable hurdles, while breaking these obstacles down allows my clients to work through their anxiety and move through it.

In using eclectic therapy, I am am able to use various different methods which I believe that are the right fit for a client. No two people respond the same way to a therapeutic style or intervention and limiting to only one therapy limits the chance to assist my clients. This type of therapy is fully customizable to the concern of the client, their comfortability and my expertise.

Trained by a psychodynamic mentor in my master's degree, I learned the value of asking about the underlying relationships, attachment issues and unresolved needs and wants that so many of us believe that we discard as we move on to adulthood. These beliefs can shape our expectations of ourselves and the world around us. This is a therapy to employ for my clients when we need to look at deeper issues with relating to the world or themselves.

This therapy assists with teaching emotional regulation, communication skills with one's self and others, as well as how to accept all things that happen and allow them not to have power over thoughts and emotions. The use of this therapy was once only recommended for certain types of personality disorders, however, it has been more recently shown to benefit any person who feels overwhelmed, out of control and/or has been traumatized. The latter is how I employ this useful therapy style.
