My Background and Approach
Sarah utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Strategic Therapy, and Strengths Based approaches in working with her clients to achieve their desired outcome. Sarah has experience working in areas of grief and loss, parenting challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, perinatal mood disorders, school issues, family transitions, substance abuse, intimate partner violence, and adjustment to medical concerns. Sarah has experience practicing in a wide variety of settings such as in-home family therapy, preventive services, hospitals, and outpatient case management. Previously, Sarah worked doing psychosocial assessments and case management for older adults, as well as provided Brief Strategic Family Therapy for adolescents and their families. Most recently, Sarah worked in Maternal Child Health doing hospital-based work, providing assessments, supportive counseling, and connection to resources for patients and their families.
