About My Clients
Have you had a therapist before who you felt judged by or felt unheard by? I know the feeling all too well from my own experiences as a client. That's why I focus on creating a space where clients feel safe, accepted, and heard, while providing empathy and warmth within a therapeutic setting. Whether you feel like drawing, cursing, or engaging me in a standup act to recap your day I welcome your expression of your authentic self.
My Background and Approach
My approach is very conversational and I rarely, if ever, utilize worksheets. I am a trauma-based therapist and I utilize a wide variety of interventions based off the needs of the individual who I am seeing. My process is to complete a thorough biopsychosocial assesment and identify short term and long term goals in which we can work on throughout therapy. I use techniques with clients to process thoughts and feelings, identify unhelpful thought patterns, and build skills and techniques to better navigate life stressors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a child I suffered from anxiety and depression. At this age, I did not know what this was and only thought that there was something wrong with me, which caused me to spiral into a deeper depression. This is why I chose to educate myself on mental health issues and why I am so excited to be able to use my education, passion, and voice to help advocate for those with mental health issues. It is my belief that mental health is just as important as our physical health. This is why I strive to work towards destigmatizing mental health for all people.
