About My Clients
My ideal client will come to therapy willing to work, explore, learn about their own subjective experience, & value the connection between mind & body. I am passionate about working w/ clients of diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, religious/spiritual, economic, sexual & gender identities.
My Background and Approach
I believe human beings are naturally inclined towards health & growth, & that we all encounter unique challenges on our paths of wellness. Whether a transition, unexpected event, interpersonal dynamic, circumstance, or an acute/chronic concern is interrupting your sense of balance & vitality, I provide an open, caring space for you to explore, seek meaning & clarity, & move in a direction that works best for you. I approach therapy in a collaborative, relational way to support healing & promote wholeness. I encourage focus on somatic experience, addressing the whole person, & how one's experiences impact engagement in life & relationships with others. I draw from various theoretical orientations & approaches to best adapt to your specific needs. I have specific extended training in gender affirming consultation/therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, & Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the art of psychotherapy as much as the science. I believe that one's individual wisdom rooted in their experience, as well as attendance to body and relational dynamics, are integral to good therapy. I believe that the systems & communities individuals exist in provide strengths, support, and resilience, and can also bring harm, & pain. I am interested and passionate about intersectional identity development, the impact of larger social & ecological systems of structure and power, how these impact human capacity for growth and healing, & the importance of community support & justice in healing.
