My Background and Approach
I am a counselor with eight years of experience in mental health, specializing in trauma-informed care and working with diverse populations, particularly Muslim and Middle Eastern communities. My work is rooted in understanding the unique challenges faced by individuals navigating cultural, emotional, and identity struggles. I hold a deep respect for each person’s journey and approach therapy with empathy, patience, and sensitivity. In addition to my clinical experience, I have utilized Gestalt therapy, which helps clients increase self-awareness, process unresolved emotions, and create lasting change. I also have a background in working with children, adolescents, and families in school settings, which has enhanced my ability to connect with clients of all ages. My diverse skill set allows me to tailor therapy to fit your unique needs, whether you’re facing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or personal growth challenges. Together, we’ll work toward building resilience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply committed to advocating for underserved populations, particularly Muslim and Middle Eastern communities, and those affected by trauma and mental health challenges. As a counselor, I prioritize creating safe, inclusive spaces where individuals feel seen, valued, and supported. I believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care, regardless of background or circumstances, and I strive to break down barriers that may prevent individuals from seeking help. In addition to my work as a therapist, I am proud to be an Interdisciplinary Minority Fellow. This experience has strengthened my passion for addressing the unique challenges that marginalized communities face, and I work to provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care that respects the identities and values of those I serve. I am also passionate about creating awareness and dialogue around mental health, particularly in communities that are often overlooked or stigmatized.
