About My Clients
In clinical terms, my patients have what we call "erotically marginalized identities". This is an umbrella term that describes identities that put them at risk of being discriminated against, marginalized, or pathologized in healthcare settings. This includes folks who are LGBTQ*, have kinks or fetishes, practice non-monogamy (polyamory, ENM, CNM, etc.), or have been or are involved in sex work.
My Background and Approach
I am psychodynamically oriented, meaning I'm deeply curious about the sometimes unconscious factors that motivate our behavior. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a type of therapy where we explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions. My goal is to help you transform your inner critic into a gentler, kinder voice, and act as if you can create the life you've always wanted.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It's important to me that my patients know they have a therapist who is with them in solidarity and community. I'm a white, queer, sober intersectional feminist and I'm passionate about pleasure activism and helping my patients create shame-free, joy-filled lives. When I'm not in session, you can find me curled up with a good book (urban fantasy is my favorite), browsing wallpaper sections, working on an embroidery project and chasing my cats around the house.
