My Background and Approach
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, and my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. During my time in the program, I completed my internship at an outpatient mental health clinic for children and adolescents. My main treatment approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness/Meditation. I believe that we often fall into the trap of our negative thoughts and beliefs, leading to a variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and difficulty maintaining healthy relationships. CBT brings awareness and knowledge to our negative ways of thinking while providing tools to challenge the thought processes that prevent our growth. To me, this goes hand in hand with our ability to be mindful of what we are thinking, feeling, and experiencing in the present moment.
