About My Clients
Hi and wow! It takes courage to look for and reach for support. See if any of these apply to you- You feel like you're circling the same toilet bowl of situations, relationships, feelings. You want relief from the stress, anxiety, depression and pain you feel too much and too often. You are willing (with a little healthy fear) to invest your energy in making yourself and your relationships better (your definition of better goes here). If any of that pings inside you, it’s likely I can help.
My Background and Approach
I have practiced psychotherapy in CA since 2013, with education and experience spanning from the East to the West Coast of the US since 2007. My experience helping individuals and relationships leans on my extensive training in Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, and Intimacy From the Inside Out. In addition to these, I use a variety of therapies when they are appropriate and beneficial. I make training, mentorship, and the growth of my therapy skills and myself an important priority in my practice. In early sessions, we build a brave space to provide support and progress from each session. For individuals, I listen to your goals and the themes of pain & struggle. Together we create a dynamic plan to focus on you. For couples, we use specific exercises to discern what you need. Instead of rehashing and blaming, we build skills for listening, communicating, and connecting. In each moment, you feel that I am supportive, kind, committed and direct, as well as persistent and playful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everything in us, biologically, psychologically, and spiritually, is oriented toward survival. Survival of our surroundings and communities, survival of past experiences and present circumstances, survival of what might be. Survival is an awesome super-force constantly at work on our behalf. It is a resource working in our favor that deserves honor and respect. But here’s the thing… surviving is not thriving. Surviving is not necessarily healing. So many of us feel a call towards a better quality in our everyday experiences, relationships, and within ourselves and communities. We feel an internal movement towards thriving. But this thriving can’t be found in the commercialized, systemized, commodified industries of wellness that bombard us with “shoulds” everyday. They need to be found and created in our relationships with ourselves, with others, and the space we live in.
