About My Clients
Around here we do gender euphoria! I have experience working with individuals, couples and families and am comfortable working with people of all gender expressions and sexualities. I have had the honor to work with people who are poly/ethically non-monogamous, sex workers and involved in the kink/BDSM scene. I am WPATH informed; I have done many WPATH evaluations and letters of support for gender affirming care.
My Background and Approach
I am a DBT girlie and have completed extensive training in DBT. I believe that therapy is a workspace in which we do the hard things, say the hard things, and dream the big things. I am not a cuddly and squishy therapist, but I TRULY care about my clients and want you to get what you came for! I believe strongly in Maslow's hierarchy of needs and approach therapy from a social work perspective (you can't think clearly if you don't have access to basic needs!). I worked for child protective services before becoming a therapist, and I approach everything with a lookout for trauma of all varieties. I am especially interested in working with queer folx who are looking to unravel their religious trauma and break free from the bonds of self-hate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in anarchy and that the structure of our society is too rooted in racism, homophobia, transphobia and misogyny to be fixed - we have to burn it down and start over! I believe in the divinity of queer folx and our birthright to live outside the dreary binary in all ways. I believe that trans children know their gender better than anyone else and deserve bodily autonomy. I have denounced morality and believe that outside of a few glaring examples that involve harming other living beings, there is no right and wrong; there are only consequences and rewards. I believe in the dignity of animals and foster a bunch of raggedy cats at all times. I believe we are queer star stuff and cannot be taken down by boring, stuffy plebeians.
