My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is non-judgmental, authentic, conversational and relational, infused with creativity, depth, humor, and practicality. I encourage my clients to bring in their writing, music, art and more. I employ a holistic approach that integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing (SE). Ultimately, these allow me to tailor our sessions to your unique needs and circumstances.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, cisgendered female therapist. I work in private practice mental health as well as in community mental health. In community mental health, I am a therapist for individuals recently released from incarceration and for individuals within Adult Transition Centers or work release programs. I have many years of experience with individuals affected by the justice system. I am an advocate for human rights, immigration, and violence prevention. I have worked previously with refugees and individuals affected by gender-based violence.
