About My Clients
My clients are ready for change. Perhaps you are unsure what therapy is all about, that's okay! We can take things slow and move at a pace that feels comfortable to you. I specialize in supporting perinatal clients navigate the prenatal and postpartum world they are now in. With me as a guide, supporter and therapist, you will get through this!
My Background and Approach
I am a skilled and sought after clinical social worker. I have my masters degree in social work and have been working with children, adolescents and families for over 15 years. One of my favorite parts of this work is forming supportive, helpful relationships with clients as we navigate life challenges and transitions together. I have an eclectic approach to treatment, meaning that I believe there is no one way to heal and grow. I enjoy sharing ideas and resources with clients. This can include traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), working with family members, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, Reiki healing, collaborating with other professionals to support clients in their care - and so much more!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
From personal experience, hearing others' experiences and learning the data, I know how difficult the entry into motherhood can be. It impacts nearly every part of you. You may feel alone, like a failure, like you're losing connections (including to yourself). Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) affect 1 in 5 women! Talking about it can be a huge first step in feeling better and enjoying this beautiful journey of motherhood. I am also a big believer in getting involved in your community in some way. Volunteering, activism, attending meetings and voting are all so important to make change happen. I am proud to support the LGBTQ community and the BLM movement. I understand I have privileges because of my skin color, among other factors, and will continue to do what I can to use my voice for those with less privilege and power.
