About My Clients

Do we end the relationship that we’re content with for one that makes us happy, at the risk of being single for a while? Do we attend a graduate program for the possibility of more opportunities? Making life-changing decisions is difficult, especially when we cannot anticipate what would come next. Through radial acceptance, we can manage our inhibitions and take charge of the most important decisions of our lives with confidence and follow through, carving out the life we always wanted.

My Background and Approach

I take a gentle but stern approach, bringing up patterns and exploring our experiences. With my strong foundation in psychology, and expertise in managing life transitions and women’s issues, we’ll build coping skills, work through complex emotions, and cultivate self-acceptance and psychological flexibility to help you move through life with resilience. My goal is empowerment through a client-centered, anti-oppressive and culturally sensitive approach, with a focus on building a collaborative relationship where your voice and values guide the work we do together. By working together, we will navigate your goal of living more authentically and feeling grounded in who you are.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Just because we feel as though it’s too late, doesn’t mean it is. When I graduated with my degree in psychology, the valedictorian was a seventy-five year old woman, who dreamed of attending school, but instead was married young and raised children because that was “the thing to do” when she was in her early twenties. Her speech was all about being “too late”, and why that is a nonsensical way of looking at life. She may not know, but this speech inspired my practice as a whole, as I related to the idea that I was “too late” to do anything (I was twenty-two and already believed my life had concluded). We always have the opportunity to make decisions that allow us to live the life we want, we just have to find and take it. It’s important to keep in mind the bigger picture - a little stress now in a graduate program can mean less stress in the future. And removing unfulfilling relationships can only make way for better ones.
