About My Clients

I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults in all stages of life. I am a humanistic client-centered therapist, meaning each session is different depending on the client's needs. I can offer traditional talk therapy, somatic and dance/movement therapy, or a combination of talking and movement that suits you. Many clients choose me because of shared experiences with queer identity, chronic illness/disability, and/or neurodiversity. I enjoy supporting others in their healing journey.

My Background and Approach

I integrate Somatic and Dance/Movement Therapy approaches with CBT and Polyvagal Theory and the Autonomic Ladder and customize the approach for each client. My MA is Somatic Psychology with an emphasis in Dance/Movement Therapy is from Naropa University. I am a registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I also have my graduate certification in Laban Movement Analysis (GL-CMA) and a certified Alexander Teacher (AmSAT). I have always used movement and my connection to my body for healing and processing. After 20 years of performing, teaching, and choreographing, I chose to shift my passion for the body, movement, and connecting through story telling into becoming a therapist. I come from a family history of addiction and sexual, psychological, and physical abuse. It is not easy to end those cycles and heal inherited trauma and our own traumas and I am honored to support others on this complex and difficult path of healing and finding joy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every individual has the right to respect, equity, and basic human rights. I am proud to be queer, disabled, and neurodiverse and I celebrate and welcome all LGBTQ+, BIPOC, persons with disabilities, all body sizes, and neurodiverse individuals of all stages of life. I believe that we all have the strength to heal from complex trauma and we all deserve to feel joy. I believe in guiding and supporting clients to find what is best in their own healing process. I believe in everyone's right to practice spirituality or religion as it serves them, as long as they do not use that to hurt themselves or others. I was the daughter of a Presbyterian minister that was a terrible person that caused a lot of harm abusing people, so I have a complex relationship to religion. I have experienced religious trauma, but I know that it is a source of comfort and grounding for many other people.
