About My Clients
Some patients come feeling alone and disconnected. For others, anxiety has taken over and they feel like that's all there is. Sometimes disorganization and distraction is affecting relationships and work. Some patients come just feeling tired of the fighting at home and not sure how things got to this point. Whatever it is you are carrying, I welcome you to come and we will find a place to start.
My Background and Approach
I completed child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medical College, where I served as child resident. My adult psychiatry training was through Michigan State University at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. I completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Psychological distress can start out small and gradually grow, until one day you take a step back, look at your life, and realize it is too much. Your situation is influenced by your biology, relationships, beliefs, culture and environment. It impacts all aspects of your life. But everyone's story of how they got here is unique. I start by unpacking your story. As we begin understanding the different factors which have led you to this point, we can find the right treatment options that are consistent with your values. I take the approach of walking alongside my patients and families, using my expertise in psychiatry and knowledge of best treatment options to guide and support you. Sometimes it will be big steps, sometimes small ones. And then there usually comes the day when you take a step back, look at your life, and realize it isn't too much anymore.
