About My Clients
I specialize in BIPOC, neurodiversity, and trauma. Creative types who prefer action-based and visual therapy modalities.
My Background and Approach
I incorporate action-based and visual modalities with evidence-based practices. I have a MA in Counseling with a Specialization in Drama Therapy. I use Creative Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Psycho-dramatic Informed Interventions, Internal Family Sytems, CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy in conjunction with a social justice and anti-oppression framework. I use a developmental and culturally informed model and interweave all parts of an individual's identity into therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our country has a long history of systemic oppression. Those outside the dominant culture are conditioned to feel something is wrong or taught to move aspects of ourselves underground to survive. I believe therapy is about identifying strengths and our resources and bringing those lost parts home. As we integrate we become more powerful. Images and body-based therapies slip pasted our defenses and socialization and gets us to the source of who we are. I have participated in Theatre of the Oppressed, performed spoken word, had art shows, and organized community mural projects. I volunteered with the elderly organizing dances, and music performances. I love to play and watch soccer, swim and use the sauna. I have a partner, 2 sons and 2 bulldogs.
