About My Clients

Anxiety and depression often surface in us when we suppress our emotions and experiences. We need a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental space to be able to explore the truth of those emotions and experiences and the truth about why we feel what we feel. It is the truth that sets us free! When we invite a safe person into our process and thoughts, it gives us an opportunity to see things we cannot see on our own, to question and challenge our automatic beliefs. This brings change and healing.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my masters in counseling from Denver Seminary. Although I am a newer therapist, I have plenty of life experience to add to the incredible training I received. I am deeply committed to my own personal growth and am consistently engaging my own stories of harm and trauma in various ways. I have also had both bad and good individual therapists and know how incredibly important the therapeutic relationship is first-hand. My passion is to create a space where others feel safe, loved, accepted, and deeply cared about, and I hope you will experience that in your sessions with me. I strongly believe that you as the client are the expert of your life and that my role is to help you uncover the beauty that is in you. I draw from person-centered theory, internal family systems, DBT and mindfulness in order to address you as a whole person. I am a Christian, and faith can also be integrated into sessions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has a captivatingly beautiful story that we are in the midst of living out. A story that contains heartache and pain, as well as strength, beauty, and glory. The challenges we experience in the present are often directly related to these unique stories. Understanding these stories allows us to have compassion for ourselves, and that compassion is transforming! Healing is a journey and we all need someone to witness that journey, to walk alongside us as we face the things in our lives that have been deeply painful. We all need someone to care deeply, affirm and validate our experiences, and help us discover what is holding us back from experiencing the change and life we long for. Therapy can be that space for you, to come as you are and experience acceptance, love, hope, and truly being heard. It can be a place where you can grow in awareness and understanding of where you have been, as well as all that you were created to be.
