Sara Edwards (she/her)

I am trained and licensed as a professional counselor, with an additional degree in human sexuality. I have a humanistic, CBT, and mindfulness background, and am also certified to treat complex trauma (C-PTSD). I come from an eclectic background of therapy modalities, but first and foremost I am a client-centered clinician. This means that your experiences and identity are central to our work together, and I am affirming and excited about learning who you are alongside you. I enjoy visualizing the whole person, and also understanding people as they fit into various socio-political climates and environments. I am an advocate for activism around cultural, sexual, and various other identities. I believe it is important to look at symptoms and diagnoses in context and work to deconstruct scripts and contexts in which we were raised and are currently enmeshed. OK, a little about me. I identify as queer, bisexual, white, and a cis woman. I try to practice what I preach with regard to wellness, and currently practice a great deal of self-care through travel, hiking, exploring, writing, and various forms of artistic creation. I've seen through my travels how good people are at heart, and intend to bring this positive energy and brightness to others in a big way. I also love playing tabletop and videogames and do feel they hold therapeutic significance and can be a benefit to our work together. I hold so much hope for others' growth, and you will see that reflected in our work together, as I tightly believe in treating clients with unconditional positive regard.
