Throughout the duration of my career, I saw the effects that trauma had on one's life and I realized the importance of working with those who have gone through highly distressing and often life-altering events, such as abuse, accidents, or witnessing traumatic incidents, working with the goal is to help them process their trauma, reduce its impact on their daily lives, and develop healthier coping strategies.

I began my career working with in the realm of addictions treatment and for over a decade I have worked with clients and their families to see beyond "it was their choice" or a "moral failing" and explore the purpose that a now maladaptive behavior has had on their life and the importance of fostering exploration or alternative coping method. I also believe that addiction, trauma and mental health issues as needing to be treated at the the same time for a clients long term success
