About My Clients
I have experience with children, teens, adults, families, & college students. I became inspired to work with women in the prenatal/pregnancy/postpartum periods after the birth of my son. I specialize in this unique area of transition into & through parenthood that can include (but are not limited to) issues related to severe stress, trauma, anxiety, mood changes, parenting, identity, sexuality, relationships, body image, self-esteem, self-awareness, & life balance.
My Background and Approach
Welcome, I am so glad you’re here! If you are hesitating about reaching out, that is natural & I can make the process easier. I am a trauma therapist and I believe the most important aspect of counseling is the relationship fit. My work is person-centered & I'm intensively trained in SAFE EMDR, TFCBT, Phase 1 Brainspotting, & through Postpartum Support International. I have extensive experience with persons with trouble expressing emotions, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma, low self-esteem, identity, & stress. I also see clients who are LGBTQIA+ with concerns around coping, relationships, family, & coming out.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
After leaving my roots in Alaska and living throughout North Carolina and Mexico, I now call Raleigh home. I work closely with and am an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I offer a culturally sensitive approach to therapy and I grew up naturally offering others a listening ear, empathy, and support. I believe you are unique: no one else was created just like you & your story has a purpose. We will work together to create your personal therapy experience to meet your goals.
