About My Clients
I work with primarily LGBTQ clients, focusing on anxiety, depression, familial issues, relationship issues, identity issues, coming out, life transitions, and stigma. I specialize in non-traditional relationship styles and alternative sexuality, including BDSM, kink, consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, and open relationships.
My Background and Approach
I hold a BA in Psychology and Queer Studies from CUNY Queens College, where I completed a thesis on the intersections of queerness, polyamory, and community care. I hold a double Masters in Psychological Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University, where I specialized in human sexuality and queer-affirming therapy. I completed my Advanced Clinical Internship with the Institute for Human Identity, where I received specialized training in the most up-to-date approaches to queer and gender affiriming care. My approach to therapy is holistic, relational, and psychodynamic. What this looks like in action is exploring the therapeutic relationship to gain insight into how your past may influence your current functioning. Together, we will work to understand and release internalized shame, maladpative beliefs about the self, and work to build more resilient self-compassion and more robust self-esteem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am queer, kink, and polyamorous, and believe in radical authenticity. I practice therapy from a trauma-informed, social justice, and culturally humble lens that honors your unique identities. I promote community care, empathy, and curiosity as a catalyst for healing. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in veterinary medicine, where I advocated for the voiceless through compassionate care.
