About My Clients

I work with folks who have experienced marginalization, whose strategies for surviving a lifetime of othering have had both benefits and costs. In these times of terror and rage, I am finding myself particularly well-suited to working with Black, brown, and LGBTQ+ folks who feel ambivalent about community; I understand feeling stuck between needing connection and fearing more hurt or betrayal.

My Background and Approach

My work is deeply relational and I have extensive training in trauma treatment. I also have a strong neurobiology background, so I use an embodied approach. I am EMDR-certified, but prefer to use that (powerful!) method as part of a more holistic treatment. I work on a sliding scale, which means that I work with my clients to find a fee that feels correct in the context of our relationship and financial realities. I love working in-person and have an office in chelsea/flatiron. My style is warm and direct, curious and engaged. I prioritize transparency with my clients and invite your feedback. If you’ve felt that previous therapists were too passive, or that too many things were left unsaid, we may be a good fit!
