About My Clients
My integrative health perspective includes your body, mind, spirit, lifestyle, relationships, and environment. I accept you fully wherever you are on your journey. It is my job to be present, without judgment, and move us in the direction you want to go in. I may suggest some things, like mindfulness exercises or guided reflections, as homework. If this does not feel doable, then we won't do it. It is a privilege to work with people who are making the effort that therapy requires.
My Background and Approach
As a street outreach worker in DC, I felt that I could better advocate for my clients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders if I pursued my MSW. After graduate school, I served as a clinical supervisor at a community kitchen for people experiencing homelessness. I began my personal healing journey in therapy during college. But, as a professional, I’ve found that therapy helped me manage the burnout and compassion fatigue I felt in the nonprofit space. In my own therapy practice today, I integrate my clinical and yoga expertise with my personal perspectives as a woman of color, as a mother, and as a therapy client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Wellness should be accessible to everyone. I am committed to always being an in-network provider to decrease out-of-pocket costs for people. You are spending your time and energy to find the right provider and work on yourself, and I respect that.
