I can help to guide you through your grief process with care, connection and compassion. Being human means experiencing loss from time to time and losing a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences in life. As humans, we are hard-wired to grieve, as we have grieved from the beginning of time and this is in our DNA. Following your natural process will bring you through your most difficult feelings and into a place of acceptance and new awareness.

Using mindfulness-based practices, I assist my clients in living in the present where they have authority over their thoughts. Projecting negative outcomes or living in the future can often be the source of anxiety and through grounding, mindfulness practices, I help my clients to understand that they have the ability to direct their thoughts to a more comfortable level of tolerance. Using somatic-based practices, we begin to understand the source of anxiety and can therefore begin to heal.

I am a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, using the Peter Levine model. I work with clients experiencing PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) assisting them to release trauma through a gentle bilateral stimulation method called "pendulation." Bilateral stimulation assists the neural pathways to re-connect to the nervous system, allowing the whole self to understand that they are no longer in danger.

I work with clients struggling with trauma and anxiety. I provide tools for anxiety management and, through a deeper dive with Somatic Experiencing, I will help you to release stored trauma from your nervous system. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.

Just like a family is made up of different individuals with their own unique personalities and roles, our internal world is composed of different parts. Each part has its own specific qualities, desires, and intentions. I will help to guide your communication with these varied individual parts for a more complete understanding and healing.

Together, we will analyse your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to work out if they're unrealistic or unhelpful and to determine the effect they have on each other and on you. I will help you work out how to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
