About My Clients
My clients are often the people everyone else depends on. They are professionals, caregivers, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, and high achievers navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, ADHD, insomnia, or major life transitions. Together, we create a treatment plan that fits your goals, whether that includes medication, careful deprescribing when appropriate, or support during mental health leave. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed.
My Background and Approach
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a background in nursing that spans inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, and community mental health. Those experiences taught me that healing is rarely about simply prescribing medication. It begins with understanding the whole person, their story, strengths, relationships, and goals. My practice is trauma-informed and collaborative. I believe medication should be used thoughtfully, with regular reassessment and deprescribing when appropriate, rather than automatically adding more medications. Whether you’re considering medication for the first time or looking for a second opinion, we’ll make decisions together based on your values and what works best for you. I work closely with therapists to ensure your care is coordinated and provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and mental health leave evaluations when clinically appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves mental health care that honors their lived experiences, culture, and identity. My goal is to create a space where clients feel heard without judgment and empowered to take an active role in their treatment. As a Black lesbian clinician, I understand how identity, community, and systemic experiences can shape mental health. While I welcome adults from all backgrounds, I am especially passionate about serving individuals from historically marginalized communities who are seeking affirming, culturally responsive care. I also believe healing is more than symptom reduction. It’s about helping people build lives that feel meaningful, connected, and emotionally sustainable.
