About My Clients
You might be the one who holds it all together—the reliable daughter, the high-achieving professional, the "strong" one in your community. But inside, you're navigating a racing heart, the weight of past trauma, or the burnout that comes from putting yourself last. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and life transitions, particularly women from BIPOC and first-generation backgrounds who feel they must constantly perform.
My Background and Approach
As an Indian Muslim woman, I understand the delicate balance of honoring your culture and faith while creating space for your own healing. In this room, you don't have to "translate" your life or justify your identity. Your full experience is already understood. My clinical foundation was built in the vibrant, resilient communities of Chicago’s South and West Sides. That experience taught me that healing isn't just about managing symptoms; it’s about reclaiming your sense of safety. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Using trauma-informed CBT and relational talk therapy, we won’t just talk about your problems; we will actively work on calming your nervous system by moving out of "high-alert" survival mode and into a space of genuine safety. We’ll focus on navigating cultural pressure, helping you balance family roles and faith with your own personal well-being. Together, we will work on breaking cycles by unpacking generational weights, allowing you to move forward on your own terms. Growing up as an American Indian Muslim, I’ve seen firsthand how systemic pressures and stereotypes impact mental health. My work is rooted in advocacy and the belief that everyone deserves a space where their dignity is never in question. Whether you are navigating grief, identity questions, or the daily stress of being "othered," I am here to walk alongside you. You’ve been strong long enough. It’s okay to have a place where you can just be.
