About My Clients
Much of my experience is working with people with eating disorders. This is often paired with body image, identity related issues, and trauma. I am also passionate about working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.
My Background and Approach
I have experience in working with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED). Some of my previous employment includes years of working at an eating disorder treatment facility as a primary therapist on a multi-disciplinary team where I learned and trained in the treatment of eating disorders for teens and adults. I use a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach which means I believe health cannot be determined by body size. I use Narrative Therapy to help clients see the power of their own story and allow me into that narrative to help redefine the messier or more broken parts. I truly believe that clients know the depth of their own story and my role as the therapist is to offer new perspectives for different outcomes. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients pinpoint what they value most about
