From working many years on a residential unit, to working closely with clients in outpatient settings... I have much experience in supporting and championing my clients to cope with depression, stay safe in the midst of suicidal ideation, and find ways to help them live their lives to fullest - even when depression tries to push them otherwise.

We need relationships but they can be SO DIFFICULT. I love people and helping people stay connected with others in healthy ways. I have trainings in DBT and RO-DBT which offer skills in making friends and maintaining friendships. I also have experience in helping singles navigate the dating world while also helping folks in committed relationships operate in healthy ways.

I have been working with people who have ED for over 5 years. In my previous employment I worked as a Primary Therapist on a multi-disciplinary team where I learned and trained in the treatment of eating disorders for teens and adults both in residential and partial-outpatient settings. I have experience with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED).

I have experience in practicing Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) with clients who struggle with OCD as well as Eating Disorders. Breaking obsessions, compulsions, food restriction habits, binging habits, or even body image issues all involve work with the client being guided through exposures to those fears behaviors, foods, or thoughts.

Emotions communicate to us and I've found this to be the foundation of much of the work I do with clients. This often means experiencing emotions together in the session, having the client name emotions on an emotion wheel, or having the client pause to take inventory of what emotions surface in the session or when processing past situations or traumas.

I have trainings in ACT that help guide clients to live in alignment with their values. Sometimes this looks like accepting what we cannot change but also committing to what we can change. This modality is helpful for clients feeling overwhelmed by work, stress, or life transitions. It can also be helpful for clients who want to see positive changes in their lives by committed to behaviors that are more aligned with what they value.
